Alpha Development Corporation was started in 1984 as a small civil works venture by Lee Allison and his wife Luann.  A small nucleus of reliable, skilled operators and laborers and former associates were selected to join Lee and comprised the company's first field crew.  With this committed crew in place, Lee's reputation for quality field work and cost engineering background and Luann’s impeccable care for the accounting issues, Alpha Development Corporation  bid work and purchased equipment and  work started coming the company's way.

 

Through the ensuing 24 years, growth of the company has been steady, with an average annual compound rate of 110%.  Its field and office personnel have been handpicked and trained, while paying special attention to its customer base.  Alpha Development Corporation has always attempted to stay at the cutting edge of technology, with in-house computerized accounting, job costing, estimating and Earthcalcs, and now automatic controls on its grading equipment in the field.

 

Alpha Development Corporation focuses on the civil works division of the construction industry.  This includes the private and public sectors, ranging from single family subdivision to multi-family and mixed use, commercial, industrial, military, churches and public works projects.  The primary work the company engages in is clearing and grubbing, excavating, grading and hauling, underground sewer, water, drainage, curbs, sidewalks, paving, street lighting and sewer and water pump treatment facilities.

Along the perimeter of the extremely steep cut slopes (after lowering the mountain top approximately 40 feet), cleanup of the clearing and grubbing process and final excavation was accomplished with large excavators with thumbs. The debris was centrally stockpiled and ground for reintroduction onto the steep slopes below the modular walls, after their completion.
